Q. How many pages is a typical Standard?

A. Since most Standards do change over time, we do not have access to the exact number of pages. Typically Standards are between 100-200 pages for printed hard copies, although a Standard can be as many as 300+ pages. This information is available on the product information page for each document.

Q. How large is a PDF in megabytes?

A. In the PDF format, most standards are less than 1 MB, although they can be as large as 4 MB. However, since a hypertext link is being sent via e-mail when purchasing in PDF format there should be no e-mail size restrictions in receiving the links. This information is available on the product information page for each document.

Q. Are Standards available in CD Rom or Diskette?

A. Currently, Standards are only available in hard copy or PDF format.

Q. Can I "cut and paste" sections from a PDF document?

A. You cannot "cut and paste" from a PDF document. However, PDF formatting does allow you to search a document, print single pages or sections, and bookmark particular sections.

Q. If I purchase the hard copy version of a Standard, can I also receive the PDF?

A. Yes, but it would be two separate purchases.

Q. If I am not sure which Standard(s) apply to my product, who can I contact to determine which Standards I need?

A. You may contact Underwriters Laboratories Customer Service at +1-877-ULHELPS (854-3577).

Q. How often does a Standard get revised or updated?

A. Each UL Standard is unique, and although most (if not all) Standards do change over time, revisions and updates regarding a particular Standard are based on the needs in insuring public safety and confidence and improving quality.

Q. Does Comm2000 offer a Service that will let me know when new documents are issued for a specific UL Standard?

Q. When I order a Standard (PDF/Web delivery) how will I receive this?

A. Once your order is complete you will receive an email confirmation from Orders@comm-2000.com. This email will contain an invoice along with a hot link that will allow you to down load your Standard. Typically this takes a matter of seconds to a few minute, if you have not received your email order with in a half hour, please call our toll free # 888-853-3503 or (outside the US call) 415-352-2168.

Q. How do I save a PDF File?

A. 1. Look for an icon that looks like a diskette , usually located in the upper left corner. Click or double click that icon and then it will ask where you would like to save this Doc. The rest is up to you.

Q. What is "3 Year Subscription Service?"

A.Standards Subscription Service -- A three-year subscription service that provides the following material during the three year term:

  • All UL reports of UL/Industry meetings pertaining to the Standard.
  • All new and/or revised requirements issued for the Standard.
  • A new edition if issued.
  • Access to UL's Collaborative Standards Development System to review proposals and provide comments for the Standards or Outlines covered by the subscription.

A. You will receive an invoice via email if you supplied an email address or if a hardcopy was ordered, one will be sent with your package.

A. Your order will be shipped as per your request. UPS Ground, UPS 2 Day Air, UPS Next Day Air. Our website offers the ability to calculate freight instantaneously and allows you to track your orders on the web. Orders are processed Monday thru Friday. Orders placed by 1pm Central Standard Time will ship the day the order was placed.
